A series of five images depicting typical English Rural life in the 21st Century. The haphazard symmetry of the hedgerows, fields and trees on a distant hillside perfectly capture the essence of managed landscapes.Although these images were all taken in May 2019, they could easily have been taken 3 or more centuries previously as the scenery has changed little since then. Inspired by Constable's paintings of English Rural Life in the 18th Century these images could not be anywhere but England. They are located in the Blackdown Hills on the Devon/Somerset borders. This third image is characterised by distant farm animals - primarily cows and sheep, in mixed pasture which adds to the idyllic pastoral nature of the image.
